  • World Book Day

    Wed 08 Mar 2023

We had a lovely day celebrating World Book Day and enjoyed a variety of book related activities including making bookmarks, designing book covers and painting pictures and making stick puppets of book characters. Lots of children dressed up as characters from different books, what amazing costumes! Gruffalo’s, Supertato’s, Matilda’s and Miss Trunchbull to name a few. Some children brought in their favourite storybook and throughout the day lots of stories were read and enjoyed.

  • Cross Country Event at Elvetham Heath

    Wed 08 Mar 2023

Great fun was had by all at the cross country running event held at Elvetham Heath Primary School. Seven schools from across the local area brought along teams from key stage 1 to take part in some running activities. Each school was allocated a Year 6 sports ambassador from Elvetham Heath, who helped guide us through some warm up stretches and running routines. The children did some interval sessions, walking and sprinting and played some relay team races.

The afternoon was rounded off with longer distance races for year 2 boys and year 2 girls, then year 1 boys and year 1 girls. They ran the course of two laps around a full sized pitch and then funnelled in to receive a numbered position.

A big congratulations to all of the children who took part. I was incredibly proud of their resilience, not one of them gave up and they showed great support for their fellow Westfields friends. A special shout out to Rhys who won the Year 1 boys event and Mila who came 2nd in the Year 1 girls race.
