Mrs Wilson and Miss Redmond warmly welcome you to Squirrel Class

In Squirrel Class we all love coming to school and learning about exciting new things. Our lovely learning environment encourages us to explore and be curious. We are able to confidently apply our new learning within our play both inside and outside of the classroom.   

We have an inviting home corner in which we use real life objects to enhance our role play and imaginative activities, including acting out our any new learning.

We have a fun packed construction area, which is always a hive of activity. We use many different construction materials to make creative models enhancing our imagination, Mobilo is definitely a firm favourite in Squirrel Class! We also love using different small world equipment to make up stories and action with our friends

We also have a cosy reading nook that we love to snuggle into, under the fairy lights, with a favourite book and one of our many squirrel cuddly toys.

To encourage our mark making and writing, we have lots of fun resources to encourage us to draw, paint and write. We use giant chalk outside, we write in sand, use charcoal and paint as well as make use of felt tips, colouring pencils and pen and we love to get creative in our art area!

We really enjoy exploring our exciting outside area, especially the mud kitchen where we can make mud pies, soup and other delicacies. We love getting in the giant sand pit with our wellies on and also exploring how water flows in the drainpipes and tubes. The bug hotel, potion station and art easel are also very popular areas! We are very lucky to be able to go outside in all weathers and learn alongside our friends from Fox and Hedgehog Class.

In our class, we have the amazing Mrs Benson, Mrs Green and Mrs Vandensteen who help and support us. They love to support our development of literacy and maths skills through fun and inviting games and activities.
  

We are so pleased with how well our Squirrels are following our Golden Rules by being kind and gentle, doing their best, being respectful and listening carefully. 

We are all super squirrels in Squirrel Class!
