Today all of our Year R children had the excitement of participating in a rather fun-filled taster judo session. 

Ahead of being able to join in at Judo Club in September, Mr Fricker, the judo teacher, hosted practical sessions with each of our Reception Classes to give the children an idea of this exciting sport which many of the children may not have experienced before. 

Firstly, each class were introduced to important safety rules. Then Mr Fricker shared some new Japanese words, followed by some judo moves, games and skills.

Everyone had so much fun and shared that they enjoyed their session.

We are so glad that we are able to offer your children these extended curriculum opportunities and hope that lots of our pupils will be inspired to join the early morning club from September, who knows we could have a future judo champion at WIS?!
