Today was not just any Monday but our ‘Taskmathster’ themed Maths Day! The children started their day watching some of our wonderful teachers take part in challenges in a special assembly.  Then it was the children's turn. There were tasks involving measuring, shape, number and even singing! It was fantastic to see the teamwork, planning and logical thinking to solve each challenge. We had some great songs about the number 10 written by each class. Challenge 5 was to make the longest paper chain out of one piece of paper. The children worked in groups of 3 or 4 to solve it and the longest chain measured over 3 metres! It was brilliant walking round seeing children so enthusiastic and engaged solving mathematical problems. Maths was definitely fun at Westfields!
