Well-Being
At Westfields Infants School (and across The Westfields Federation) we place children’s well‑being at the heart of everything we do, creating an environment where every child feels supported, valued, and able to thrive. Alongside the teaching team we benefit from a dedicated family support worker (FSW) who works closely with our families, helping to nurture a healthy, balanced approach to emotional and social support.
In school through the JIGSAW PSHE Curriculum, children build on their learning week by week, developing the language and confidence to express themselves and talk about their feelings. To make sharing emotions feel safe and approachable, every classroom has its own worry monster called TED (Tell, Explain, Describe), giving children a gentle, less direct way to communicate any concerns or worries they may have.
Together, and through our Federation Aims these approaches help ensure that pupils develop their resilience and skills to grow as unique individuals who are prepared to face the challenges of the modern world.
