Space Station Westfields… Year 1 Space Workshops

In Year 1 today we were excited to learn more about Space from Mr Chaplin, a teacher from the Juniors who is passionate about all things Space related! Mr Chaplin enthusiastically shared his wealth of knowledge and interest for the topic. He talked to each of our classes about the moon and the very first moon landing. In each class, three volunteers were also chosen to dress up as Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to bring this historic event to life. The children were fascinated to learn some rather unusual facts about the different planets... Did you know that blue snow falls on Neptune and it can also rain diamonds!? We are sure that he certainly inspired some Year 1 children (and maybe even staff?!?) to want to become an astronaut in the future!
