Year 2 Great Fire of London - April 2016
On Tuesday 26th April a theatre group called Matrix theatre visited year 2 as part of our topic on The Great Fire of London. Each class in year 2 had a session with Chrissy and Claire from Matrix theatre who transformed our school hall into Pudding Lane, London 1666! We learnt about the events of The Great Fire and each child had a role to play.
It was a fantastic experience for the children who loved hearing about all the details of the Great Fire and what life was like for people during 1666. The props and costumes were great and really brought it to life for the children. We had a variety of characters such as Samuel Pepys, Charles II and the Lord Mayor! The children didn’t stop talking about their experience and it really inspired them to do some fantastic writing!
