Space Station Westfields… Year 1 Space Workshop
An exciting extended curriculum opportunity landed at WIS today in Year 1, in the form of the landing of Mr Chaplin from the Junior School to lead a workshop all about our current learning about Space. Mr Chaplin enthusiastically shared his passion and wealth of knowledge for the topic. He talked to each of the classes about the moon and the first moon landing; some volunteers had the chance to dress up as Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to bring this historic event to life. We also learnt some unusual facts about the different planets. He certainly inspired some Year 1 children to want to become an astronaut in the future!
